By Allen, Jim
Jim has been fishing since he was four years old. He developed his fishing skills as a child, fishing off the rocks with his father and uncles. He loves kids and taught his own children and grandchildren to fish. after fishing for over 70 years, both as a recreational and commerc...ial fisherman, he still gets great pleasure fishing off the rocks with a bunch of kids. This is the second in the Jim's Way series of books on learning to fish. If you read right through you'll be on your way to having a lot of success. You will learn the type of gear to use, where to go to buy it and how much to pay for it. There's also the different types of fish you can catch and how to rig your gear to catch them. You'll find out the sort of bait to use and the best time and tide to fish, and there's even a section on how to clean and cook your fish and a couple of easy but mouth-watering recipes too. And there's a lot of other good stuff including some fishing stories from my past. The book is in five parts. Part 1 teaches you about rods and fishing gear and how to rig them, how to catch the smaller fish off the rocks, as well as how to catch snapper and kahawai too. Part 2 is for the lucky kids who have access to a boat. Part 3 shows you what to do with your fish when you've caught it - including cooking it. Part 4 is a very important safety section. Part 5 tells you about gathering and cooking shellfish. It concludes with one of Jim's favourite fishing stories.Read more
