Covers NZ workshops during the desert and Italian campaigns and their important role supporting the 2nd NZ Expeditionary Force units. From the formation of RNZEME in 1946 it covers the corps' roles in post-war conflicts, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Bosnia, and peacekeeping. Discusses in depth the issues surrounding repair and maintenance of NZ military vehicles, equipment and vehicles, from the 1940s to 2000s.

Peter Cooke has been writing and publishing NZ military history since the 1990s.
