Author's Bio

William McIlvanney's first novel, Remedy is None, won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize and with Docherty he won the Whitbread Award for Fiction. Laidlaw and The Papers of Tony Veitch both gained Silver Daggers from the Crime Writers' Association. Strange Loyalties, the third in the Detective Laidlaw trilogy, won the Glasgow Herald's People's Prize. McIlvanney died in December 2015. Mark Bonnar is a Scottish actor with a long list of film and television roles to his name. His recent credits include Catastrophe, Summer of Rockets, Humans and Shetland. He also lent his voice to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. In 2017, Mark won a BAFTA Scotland award for his role in the television series Unforgotten.
