Won-Ldy Paye was trained as a storyteller by his grandmother. He is from the Dan people of northeastern Liberia, and now lives in Seattle, Washington. With Margaret H. Lippert, he is author of books including Head, Body, Legs and Mrs. Chicken and the Hungry Crocodile. Margaret H. Lippert has taught in the United States, as well as in Guatemala and Tanzania, where she learned many stories. She lives on Mercer Island, Washington. Julie Paschkis is a painter and illustrator who makes her home in Seattle, Washington. She won a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor for Yellow Elephant, and her other acclaimed works include Vivid: Poems & Notes about Color and the bilingual book Flutter and Hum / Aleteo y Zumbido. Paschkis also illustrated the Worldwide Stories (Glass Slipper, Gold Sandal; First Light, First Life; and Fearsome Giant, Fearless Child) and several picture book biographies, among many others.
