Author's Bio
Melinda Szymanik is an award winning author of chapter books, short stories and picture books. Her books include The Were-Nana, winner of Children's Choice at the 2009 NZ Post Children's Book Awards, A Winter's Day in 1939 winner of Librarian's Choice at the 2014 LIANZA Awards and Fuzzy Doodle, a 2017 White Raven selection. Malene Laugesen was born in Denmark and moved to Christchurch in 2008. She draws much of her inspiration from fairy tales, dreams, the old architecture of Europe and the amazing nature of her new home, New Zealand. She has illustrated more than a dozen books and now lives in Christchurch.
