This book is dedicated to the general study of the structural dynamics of direct and inverse problems. The models used in the industry to perform dynamic calculations are intended to learn about the frequencies and modes of the studied structure in its solicitation usual range. T...he associated calculations are large. From this follows a simple idea: reduce the size of the matrices associated with a system that least affected the simulation results, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The challenge is bold in some cases. Different ways of doing reduce the order of the matrices into play to make the calculation on a smaller problem and transcribe the results to the size of the original problem. We also present the structural identification techniques: technical coupling between calculated and measured data to develop a reliable mathematical model. It seeks to build a mathematical model for the purpose of assisted conception and predicting the behavior and responses in the presence of a given excitation field (sizing problems, rupture, fatigue ...). It also seeks the prediction of performance and safety limits. This identification occurs to evaluate some dynamic characteristics currently not accessible by calculating correct some approximations or uncertainties.

In this book, we present in detail several recent methodologies and algorithms that we have developed during the last fifteen years. The deterministic methods account for uncertainties through empirical safety factors, which implies that the actual uncertainties in materials, geo...metry and loading are not truly considered. This problem becomes much more complicated when considering biomechanical applications where a number of uncertainties are encountered in the design of prosthesis systems. Therefore, the reliability and optimization coupling leads to reliable and optimal designs. The reliability and optimization procedures are classically carried out using deterministic constraints, but when considering the living tissues, the constraints become variable, that leads to a different design space at each iteration. There is a strong need to consider this complexity on the material property uncertainty. The mechanical properties change permanently in terms of the mechanical environment, ageing, disease, nutrition and other factors. This book implements improved numerical strategies and algorithms that can be applied only in biomechanical studies.

This book is dedicated to the general study of the dynamics of mechanical structures with consideration of uncertainties. In the second part, we present a study of structural optimization. The goal is to get the appropriate forms of a part in minimizing a given criterion. In all ...fields of structural mechanics, the impact of good design of a room is very important to its strength, its life and its use in service. This challenge is daily in leading sectors. The development of the engineer's art requires considerable effort to constantly improve structural design techniques. The optimization occurs primordial way in increasing performance and weight reduction of aerospace and automotive gear, resulting in substantial energy savings.
